How to Make Mimosas

Servings: 4 Total Time: 5 mins Difficulty: Beginner

Mimosas and brunch go perfectly together so I’ve pulled together this guide on How to Make Mimosas. They are so simple to put together I didn’t think I could get away with calling this post a recipe! So I have gone with a how to guide instead.

What’s the Difference Between Mimosas and Buck’s Fizz?

Mimosas and Buck’s Fizz are very similar drinks both made with fresh orange juice and sparkling wine. The difference actually comes in the ratio of orange juice to sparkling wine. A Buck’s Fizz has more sparkling wine than fresh juice. While a Mimosa has an equal ratio of fresh orange juice to sparkling wine.

It is believed that in 1925, a bartender at the Ritz Hotel in Paris named Frank Meier invented the Mimosa. While the Buck’s Fizz was thought to be created 4 years earlier in the Buck’s Club in London.

I’ve added a few recipes to the drinks section of this website including lemon iced tea, a sparkling cranberry cider and apple infused tea.

I’ll also add in a few hot drinks to take us through the last few months of winter. I make my own cinnamon syrup for my coffee and also a good hot chocolate syrup which I use as a base for mochas. Next time I make them I’ll be sure to take a proper photograph and get them typed up.

You can check out all my new drinks recipes by clicking through to the drinks section of my website here: Drinks.

If you are after a non-alcoholic brunch drink then you might want to try my recipe for Strawberry and Watermelon Smoothies: Strawberry Watermelon Smoothie.

Enjoy!
